ABOUT US
How does support work?
One on One Personal Support
First step is an initial consultation, a support worker will visit your home and meet parents/ carers and the child requiring assistance.
Whilst there, a plan will be discussed that works with your family and allows for regular quality time with your support person and your child.
There are many opportunities for this time as it could be a school drop off and/or pick up, help with after school activities or the creation of a regular outing with your support worker. This allows for bonding and ultimately the confidence in your child's support person will foster ongoing discussion.
During the initial meeting any troubling behaviours or concerns can be raised and work in these areas can commence at a pace that is measured and appropriate depending on the client and the situation.
Reasonable outcomes are also discussed to ensure that both the client and parent/carer understand what can be achieved and what may require further assistance by specialist services.
Once the support system is established with the child on a regular basis we often see an increase in confidence in the child due to the regularity of focussed attention on the child and their individual concerns.
Video Chat
A way of communication when regular one on one support may be unavailable, video chats are another way to engage children that may require support, yet are not in our local area. Initial call involves parent/carer and child and then regular contact can be discussed.
Quarterly reports
Reports can be made available outlining your child's progress including notable insights the support person can offer the child's parents/caregiver.
